Educational Outreach on Water and Climate Change Held at School in Khovos District
As part of an educational outreach initiative focused on water resources and climate change, a team of professors and faculty members from the Faculty of Hydrometeorology at the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) visited School No. 10 in Khovos district, Sirdarya region.
Led by the head of the Department of Water and Climate Change, the outreach program aimed to strengthen cooperation between the university and local schools, raise awareness among students about environmental and sustainability issues, and promote interest in careers related to hydrometeorology, climate science, and water management.
During the event, faculty members conducted interactive lectures and training sessions on topics such as climate change, sustainable use of water resources, and environmental protection. The activities were designed to assess students’ interests in environmental sciences and encourage their future involvement in related university programs and extracurricular clubs.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Faculty of Hydrometeorology to engage with communities, promote environmental education, and contribute to the development of future experts in the fields of climate resilience and water resource management.
