The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Visited the NUU

Today, a delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, Mr. Shadurdi Meredov, paid a visit to the National University of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, Ambassador Mr. Shadurdi Meredov, Consul Azat Djorayev, and Attaché Ayna Yoldasheva from the Embassy of Turkmenistan held a meeting with Rector Inom Madjidov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Raima Shirinova, and Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Innovation Yoqub Ergashov of the National University of Uzbekistan.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, initiating faculty and student exchanges, enhancing academic mobility, establishing cooperation in scientific research, and creating joint scientific laboratories.

The parties also agreed to organize a meeting between Turkmen students studying at the university and embassy representatives in the near future. Furthermore, it was decided to hold an international conference at the university in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly, and to establish a mini-library dedicated to the poet’s life and work at the Faculty of Uzbek Philology.

For reference, as of today, 341 students from Turkmenistan are studying across 13 faculties of the National University of Uzbekistan.
