On June 13, a delegation from the prestigious Peking University of China visited the National University of Uzbekistan.
The delegation included Shi Luven – Director of the International Research Center for Medical Management, Guan Xiaodong – Director of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Management, Haisharjiang Wushuer – Associate Professor at the International Research Center for Medical Management, Liu Zhaofeng – Executive Chairman of the China International Medical and Health Development Association, and Jan Qiang – Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
The guests were welcomed by Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the National University of Uzbekistan; Nodirjon Narziyev, Head of the Department for Transformation of Educational Infrastructure; Javlonbek Madatov, Head of the Department for Organizing International Cooperation; Ulug‘bek Oxundadayev, Head of the Department for Work with International Students; and Alijon Oripov, Head of the Department of Strategic Development and International Rankings.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the involvement of professors and lecturers in the fields of chemistry and biology from the National University of Uzbekistan in scientific projects carried out by China under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
During the discussions, proposals for cooperation were made in the following areas:
Implementing joint scientific research projects in the fields of biology, chemistry, and biochemistry (“Life Sciences”),
Establishing student and faculty exchange programs,
Organizing joint educational programs for bachelor’s and master’s levels.
The leadership of the National University of Uzbekistan welcomed these initiatives with great interest and expressed full support.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides held negotiations on the directions of cooperation to be implemented in the next phase and agreed to further strengthen mutually beneficial relations.
