NUU Public Talks Series 6.0 : THE AIR POLLUTION AND IT’S EFFECT TO OUR HEALTH

The sixth session of the NUU Public Talks series was dedicated to environmental and health issues, under the theme “Air Pollution and Its Impact on Our Health.” The session was conducted by Mekan Ibragimov, a first-year student from the Faculty of Foreign Philology at the National University of Uzbekistan.

During this session, participants discussed the sources of air pollution, its negative effects on human health, and measures to reduce it.

We should not see air pollution as merely an environmental issue. It directly affects the health of future generations, economic stability, and overall quality of life. If the air we breathe is this polluted, what kind of health will future generations have?

He emphasized that air pollution adversely affects respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, and even mental health. He also noted the importance of increasing youth engagement and developing ecological awareness to address the issue.

To solve the problem of air pollution, not only the government but each of us must contribute. We, the youth, must take real actions to protect the environment. If we neglect our responsibilities, this issue will only deepen.

In addition, Alijon Oripov, the initiator of NUU Public Talks and Head of the Department for Strategic Development and International Rankings, made the following remarks:

“Air pollution is not only an environmental issue but also a social one. Many innovative solutions are being implemented in developed countries. We, too, must learn from international experiences and be proactive in ensuring environmental sustainability. It is also vital to raise awareness among students and professors about the harmful effects of air pollution. We must take steps such as reducing car usage, expanding green zones, switching to renewable energy sources, and minimizing industrial waste.”

Air pollution is one of the major global environmental challenges today, and addressing it requires a comprehensive approach.

Let’s work together towards a clean and green future!
