University\u2013Community\u2013School Collaboration Promotes Youth Engagement in Climate Awareness, Energy, and Sustainable Development<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In a meaningful effort to bridge the gap between environmental education and social inclusion, the Department of Pedagogical Education<\/strong> at the Faculty of Social Sciences, National University of Uzbekistan<\/strong>, organized a climate-focused outreach event titled \u201cWe Are One Family.\u201d<\/strong> The initiative was held at School-Internat No. 102<\/strong> for students with hearing impairments in the Olmazor district of Tashkent<\/strong>.Led by Head of Department F.A. Babashev<\/strong>, the outreach aimed not only to promote inclusive learning and social values<\/strong>, but also to raise awareness among young learners about climate change, environmental sustainability, and responsible resource use<\/strong>\u2014topics that are increasingly relevant in today\u2019s world.The event brought together faculty members including Associate Professor H.R. Haydarova<\/strong>, Senior Lecturer Sh.A. Sadikova<\/strong>, and lecturers U.A. Ismadiyarova<\/strong> and M.Y. Murodov<\/strong>, along with S.F. Rahmonova<\/strong>, tutor from the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology. They were joined by university students who took part in delivering specialized, interactive climate-related sessions.Environmental Focus in the Classroom<\/p>

The outreach featured interactive workshops in classes 2-B, 4-B, 6-A, 7-B, and 8-B<\/strong>, designed specifically for students with hearing impairments. These sessions covered:<\/p>

  • Basic concepts of climate change<\/strong> and why it matters<\/p><\/li>

  • Water conservation<\/strong> and the global water crisis<\/p><\/li>

  • Simple ways to reduce energy use<\/strong> at school and home<\/p><\/li>

  • Understanding weather patterns and natural disasters<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • Protecting local biodiversity and ecosystems<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    The lessons were adapted to be visually engaging and student-friendly, using visual aids, gestures, and simplified scientific models to ensure full participation and comprehension.Empowering the Next Generation of Climate-Conscious Citizens<\/p>

    By embedding climate education into an inclusive teaching model, the program not only delivered valuable scientific knowledge, but also empowered students to see themselves as active participants in protecting the planet. These early exposures to environmental themes help foster a sense of responsibility and stewardship<\/strong>, regardless of physical or social barriers.<\/p>

    The event also served as hands-on training for university students in inclusive pedagogy and environmental communication\u2014skills that are becoming increasingly essential in both education and sustainability sectors.<\/p>

    A Broader Commitment to Climate Awareness<\/h3>

    This outreach reflects the National University of Uzbekistan\u2019s growing commitment to integrating climate action<\/strong> across all areas of teaching, outreach, and community development.
